During the 2025 school year, the Project conducted presentations at various schools across Monmouth County, engaging students in writing letters to the children we serve in Africa. Students from Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft, eighth-grade students from Sisters Academy in Asbury Park, middle schoolers at Rumson Country Day School, and members of the Holy Cross Youth Group in Rumson all took part in sending heartfelt messages “across the pond” to their African peers.
In their letters, students shared stories about their families, pets, hobbies, and interests, offering a glimpse into their everyday lives. Although mail travels slowly, the Project’s children received the letters this past spring. With great anticipation, the American students look forward to continuing the exchange and deepening their connections with their African penpals.
Interested in a School Presentation?
We’d be honored to visit your school and share our story with your students. Our presentation not only highlights the challenges faced by youth in other parts of the world, but also encourages American students to reflect on and appreciate the educational opportunities they have.
